The Service Business has recently been asked by a leading global defence contractor to model multi-echelon/multi indentured spare parts planning. This has involved The Service Business’s consultants expanding  the customer’s existing capability to encompass spare parts planning in the forward space. Speaking on behalf of The Service Business, senior consultant Trevor Heenan said “Not only does this give the customer an idea of where they can optimise their inventory, it also gives them ability to model different scenarios based on geographical locations and on different service levels. We have done this with the customer’s existing technology and shown them what can be achieved without having to invest heavily in new technology.”
